Why We Built This Site
Minnesota court records are governed by the Minnesota Rules of Public Access to Records of the Judicial Branch, but knowing that a record may be public is only the first step. A Hennepin County matter may be in MCRO, at a courthouse terminal, with a division counter, or in the Records Center’s copy-request process. The local court uses Register of Actions for the chronological case history. The aim is to identify the right official route without confusing a daily calendar, an unofficial download, and a certified court record.
Hennepin County is the entire Fourth Judicial District. Its civil, criminal, family, housing, probate, mental-health, juvenile, and traffic work uses one District Court system across several facilities. The site uses that local structure rather than treating each building or city as an independent court.
What You Will Find Here
The content focuses on official access paths and local court vocabulary. It explains what an MCRO result can show, when a Hennepin County case number is needed, and when a request should go to Court Administration instead.
- Docket paths: public criminal and civil Register of Actions research.
- Settings: the Hennepin County Court Schedule, hearing searches, and calendar limitations.
- Case lookup: MCRO name, citation, attorney, and complete-case-number routes through Docket Search.
- Copies: public documents, certification, transcripts, and Records Center procedures in Court Case Records.
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately operated reference resource. It cannot search a court file on someone’s behalf, change a Hennepin County hearing, issue a certified copy, seal or amend a record, or give legal advice. The court office that maintains the original record controls those actions.
- It cannot confirm a Hennepin County setting in place of the notice or assigned court staff.
- It cannot issue a certified Register of Actions, judgment, order, or transcript.
- It cannot resolve a citation, a warrant question, or a court payment.
- It cannot decide whether a restricted or sealed record is available.
- It cannot offer advice about a particular legal matter.
Hennepin County Court Administration, the Records Center, and the assigned court division remain the official sources for case files and certified court records.
Search Partners
Some pages contain a third-party search box. Its provider controls its own results, prices, and privacy practices. A paid result from a third party does not replace MCRO, a Hennepin County public terminal, Court Administration, or an official court record. Referral compensation, where offered, helps support the resource but does not change the court’s record-access rules.
